April 25, 2017

NANAIMO – The Nanaimo Port Authority (NPA) has recently announced that Mr. Patrick Belanger has accepted his new position as Marina Manager.

“I am very pleased with the engagement of Mr. Belanger who brings a wealth of knowledge from his previous position and is well suited for the next phase of our marina operations,” says Bernie Dumas, the NPA’s President and CEO.

“The Nanaimo Port Authority Marinas and Mills Landing are centre pieces for the harbour and hold high value for local stakeholders. Mr. Belanger is a great fit for us and this important part of our harbour community.”

Mr. Belanger arrives from Victoria where he was employed by the Victoria Harbour Authority from 2006 for on-sight supervision at the Fisherman’s Wharf facility including their marina and property operations.

Originally from Winnipeg, Patrick landed in Victoria in 1996 where he assumed responsibilities with the Greater Victoria School District 61 for 10 years. Mr. Belanger brings his wife and two children to Nanaimo and looks forward to his new appointment.

“I really like the Nanaimo area and see many economic advantages in this community,” he says. “My position with the Nanaimo Port Authority provides me with a great opportunity to apply my management and maintenance background to specific areas in a team setting. I know from previous experience that these skills are important to a valued marine clientele.”
